A Victory for Constitutional Rights, A Continued Commitment to Immigrant Communities

A Victory for Constitutional Rights, A Continued Commitment to Immigrant Communities

San Bernardino, CA – On June 30, 2026, the Supreme Court issued a 6-3 ruling in Trump v. Barbara, restating that fundamental rights cannot be erased with the stroke of a pen and remain protected.

Javier Hernandez, Executive Director at the Inland Coalition for Immigrant Justice stated the following,

“Today’s Supreme Court decision sends an important message: fundamental rights cannot be erased by executive action or political convenience. The Constitution exists to protect everyone, and those protections do not disappear based on who is in power.

For immigrant families, this decision is an important affirmation that constitutional protections matter. While today’s ruling does not end the challenges our communities face, it reinforces that attempts to strip away those rights will continue to face scrutiny.

This moment should remind us that justice does not happen on its own. Rights must be defended, communities must remain engaged, and leaders at every level must be held accountable for protecting the dignity and humanity of every person.”
